OsteopathyOsteopathy is a whole body, form of manual medicine. Osteopathy recognises the reciprocal relationship between structure and function plus the body’s own inherent healing capacity. Osteopaths focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue, and internal organs function together as a unit. In Australia Osteopaths are government registered (AHPRA) practitioners who complete 5 years of university training.
Each person, condition and injury is unique, so osteopathic treatments and interventions are individualised from person to person, taking a wholistic approach to care and practice. |
NaturopathyNaturopathy is a distinct and complete system of health care. Six foundational principles underpin the practice of naturopathy: 1. The healing power of nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae), 2. First do no harm, 3. Find and treat the cause whenever possible, not only the symptoms (Tolle Causum), 4. Treat the whole person, 5. Education and 6. Prevention. These six principles are kept in mind when a naturopath takes your case, develops a treatment plan and also offers maintenance for long term good health. Naturopathy is both an art and a science. Naturopaths are prevention medicine specialists. Today naturopaths utilise both scientific evidence- based as well as traditional evidence-based practice.
